


The Gilberd School is currently working towards being an Eco-School. This means that we are coming up with ways to be more environmentally conscious. Over the last academic year we achieved our Bronze Award by highlighting some of the key issues we think the GIlberd school needs to address. This year we have started looking at the Silver award and what we need to do.

Mr Pollock has also been putting in energy saving devices around the school such as classroom and toilet light sensors, which turn the lights off automatically if there is no movement after 10 minutes. He has also ensured the computers all shut down at the end of the day so that no energy is wasted.
To get our Silver Award we are going to need to do more though. We need your help! We need everyone at the Gilberd to contribute to making our environment a better place. Look out for further info over the coming weeks!
